Project background

The design brief was clear that a large uninterrupted space needed to be created so that everyone in the congregation had a clear view of the crucifix window at the end of the nave. Because traditional timber ties would have impeded the view, steel ties have been used. The oak frame works with a softwood timber frame and rendered masonry for the remainder of the build up.
