For an oak timber-framed building to succeed, all of those working on it need to work together well. Carpenter Oak & Woodland is recognised as being a team player, able to work with architects, project managers and engineers on a wide range of building projects.
Architects and engineers can draw on our unbeatable experience, knowledge and resources to help them to achieve their design goals. Whatever your design involves, it is extremely likely that we will have undertaken similar work in the past. We can help the architect or engineer to design your oak timber frame to work in the way it needs to: creating a strong oak frame without visible bracing, perhaps using the floor and roofs as diaphragm bracing, for example.
If an engineer hasn’t worked extensively with a specific size or type of oak timber frame, it’s not unusual for that engineer to use more supporting metalwork than is needed – our unrivalled expertise helps engineers and architects to eliminate most, if not all, unnecessary metalwork, getting the most from the timber itself.
We’re happy to get involved with a building at the earliest stage, so that architects and engineers can benefit from our knowledge. We like to build up successful long-term relationships with architects and engineers – working together on projects of all sizes.
