Project background

The Tythe Barn near Bicester in Oxfordshire forms one side of an amazing group of historic buildings all set round the gardens of the farmhouse, and is now used as a stunning wedding venue. This is one of the last few remaining thatched, medieval, tithe barns in Britain, which dates back to the 14th Century. Pretty much falling down at the point of the restoration, some of the oak, but much of the elm needed extensive repairs or even replacement. The project was finished off with some custom-made, medieval-style, elm banqueting tables.
