Project background

The restoration of Windsor provided a interesting challenge. Prior to rebuilding the roof, with its complex design, ornate spandrels and decorative carvings, we first began by researching historical diagrammes to ascertain what had been lost in the fire. Fortuneately for Carpenter Oak & Woodland, we are priviledged to employ some of the most repected and knowledgeable specialists in the industry. After months of painstaking work restoring the roof, we think the results speak for themselves.

The Worshipful Company of Carpenters Special Award was given ‘in recognition of the outstanding acheivement in the restoration, recreation, new design and quality of craftsmenship at Windsor Castle’.
