In January Commercial Director, Andy Parker ran another of our popular CPD workshops at the King of Hearts in Norwich which was attended by about twenty five architects and engineers from across the region. Following a light buffet lunch Andy launched into an interactive afternoon covering a range of issues of particular interest to those specifying timber frame. Regardless of whether the attendees were involved in designing conventional oak framed houses or very contemporary homes in oak frame they all found the afternoon useful. Residential buildings were not the only topic under discussion because Carpenter Oak & Woodland have significant experience in building commercial, educational and ecclesiastical buildings in oak frame and a range of other timbers such as Douglas fir and larch.
The workshop was in Andy’s usual facilitative style with lots of props, the opportunity for plenty of project specific questions and the chance to handle some of the materials and tools used in the fabrication of oak framed buildings.
