Homebuilding & Renovating, March 2002

Acquiring the land, a bungalow ripe for demolition and building a new home from scratch is not everyone’s cup of tea and not one most people would make on the spur of the moment.

How our work is featured

Homebuilding & Renovating magazine is aimed at people who are naturally self builders and DIY’ers. Brock House has featured extensively on television through Channel 4’s Grand Designs and in numerous magazines. This extensive article over eight pages with colour photographs gives a really good insight into the project from the moment that Julie and Rupert Upton saw the advert for the plot through to its completion in 2001. Often referred to as the cruciform house because of the layout, the timber frame was designed, manufactured and erected by Carpenter Oak & Woodland, frequently under the scrutinising eye of Grand Design’s Kevin McCloud.
