The September 11 Memorial Garden

This is a beautifully illustrated book published as a limited addition for the families of those who died on September 11 2001. With introductions by HRH The Prince of Wales, The Honourable William Farish (The Ambassador of the United States) and Tony Blair it documents the development of the memorial from conception through to completion in 2003.

How our work is featured

Carpenter Oak & Woodland were responsible for making the pergola that forms the centre piece to the September 11 memorial gardens.  The book documents the progress of manufacture in our yard through to erection of the structure on site in Grosvenor Square.  Stunning black and white and colour photographs bring home the craftsmanship not only of our own carpenters but that of the stonemasons, foundry men and gardeners involved in the project.  This is an image rich publication with pictures of the spectacular 3m tall columns, each turned from a single oak trunk, in our yard.

Unfortunately this book is not available to the general public but a copy is kept in our library.
