Timberbuild in the New Office Age

Green Building magazine (formerly known as Building for a Future) is a publication which concentrates on articles for the construction industry of up to date technologies and systems with environmental issues at the forefront.

How our work is featured

An article called Timberbuild in the New Office Age concentrates on how twenty-first century office environments are changing and with sustainability on the agenda in the commercial sector, how far can this be taken.

One such project is the new £5 million Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park Authority office head quarters which accommodates 120 staff. Page & Park were chosen to design the concept and it soon became obvious to them to explore the use of structural timber especially as 30% of the park is forest.

It is the timber frame, which is arguably the most impressive part of the structure. Carpenter Oak and Woodland were chosen to work alongside the architects and engineers to develop a design solution. It became a turning point with the clients to commit to a green timber frame having visited RMJM Architect’s Lauder College also constructed by Carpenter Oak and Woodland.
