Oak Frame Lodges

Designed by TRADA in partnership with Wood for Good Ltd, this publication shows how a wide range of reusable and adaptable wood structures are designed and constructed. It features 19 fully illustrated innovative examples from Buckingham Palace Ticket Office, The Globe in Geneva to Woodland Lodges.

How our work is featured

The Timber Research and Development Association (TRADA) are an internationally recognised centre of excellence for the specification and use of timber and wood products. In their publication “Reusable and Adaptable Wood Structures,“ they feature an article called “Woodland Lodges Modular Systems” built by Carpenter Oak and Woodland in collaboration with the architects Batterham Matthews Design. These woodland lodges are designed to use green (unseasoned) timber in post and beam construction, with oak panels and Douglas fir frames to compete with traditional demountable dwellings used in holiday parks. Integral decking and natural wood finish is used to provide greater warmth and are more environmentally sustainable than their competitors.
