It was so good to see the frame going up at last and the weather was kind while we were there but we heard all about the gales and rain of the day before and as we left the sky darkened yet again! Your guys did an excellent job in the conditions and thank goodness it was last week as we and the site are now under a blanket of snow. I think the oak frame was the talk of the village and quite a few cars stopped to see what all the fuss was about! It has been a pleasure working with you, especially when we had initial problems on sorting a builder etc. and I would recommend you to anyone wishing to build with a green oak frame.

To the eye the quality of the finished product is excellent. Only time will prove how it works with the timber frame kit, but we love it! The carpenters were phenomenal! They are your best advert both in terms of their ability and approach. Led by Alex, with Geoff, Graham and Fergus from your yard at Loch of Lintrathen, Kirriemuir, Angus the frame was put up in the worst possible weather conditions. It was driving rain for the whole day, with the north east suffering flooding, but the team were as helpful and cheery at the end of the day as when they first arrived ...........real heroes”.

It was always going to be very difficult to re-build the barn and stables to it’s original condition after the fire. I think that the team worked very well with the tenant in the house, minimising any possible disturbance. I visited Chalkhill Cottage at the end of June 2010 to inspect the progress of works. I am extremely pleased to advise that my clients, together with myself, are delighted with the Green Oak Frame and wish to extend our thanks to Carpenter Oak and Woodland. I understand that the frame erection caused much interest in the village and indeed whilst I was there people were stopping and viewing the works from the road and also a neighbour’s driveway! The extra mile that Carpenter Oak and Woodland went, particularly with the client’s children, taking time to explain about oak, giving them hands-on opportunities, allowing their involvement in the construction, then finally issuing them with “apprentice certificates” was very much appreciated.
