Oak curves

Natural curves are one of the most attractive and distinctive features of the best traditional and contemporary British timber framing.

Why use selected curves?

Professional framers understand the unrecoverable costs incurred when framing timber fails to meet spec on delivery, or even worse, post-construction.  Our curves are carefully selected by experienced timber-framers before delivery to minimise these costs.

Why use seasoned curves?

Using curves that have been carefully stored after felling and sawing, and thoroughly re-graded before framing will improve the finished frame, dramatically reducing post-construction shrinkage, distortion and shaking.  Your product will be better and your clients happier.

Why use shaped curves?

We shape the best curve out of each slab before it goes into the drying store.  This action removes most, if not all, of the sapwood.  This improves the drying process, reduces splitting and minimises woodworm infestation.

It also frees your framers from the dangerous and unpleasant task of shaping with a circular saw or chainsaw, and removes the need for expensive plant.

Please note we are a trade supplier and that there is a minimum order value of £100, exclusive of VAT and delivery.
