This stunning green oak framed house featured extensively on Channel 4’s Grand Designs programme. Often referred to as the Cruciform House by Kevin McCloud the presenter, the floor plan is set out in the form of a cross. All the living areas centre on the octagonal kitchen which forms a fabulous open plan socialising area for the home. McCloud commented “This is a really friendly house that reaches out into the landscape and the world outside, grabs it and brings it indoors. It doesn’t just live in its natural surroundings it lives up to”. Carpenter Oak & Woodland designed and built the frame which is timber clad externally to give quite a contemporary look yet internally it maintains a traditional style.
