Project background

At Carpenter Oak & Woodland every project is different and every frame unique, the end result being moulded by the client and the architect with our expertise being used to shape the thinking along the way. You may have to settle for a more conventional external appearance to meet local planning requirements or indeed because of personal preference, but internally there is much greater scope to create the living environment you always dreamed of. The owners of this house have made the most of the timber frame over the sitting room by exposing all the structural timber including the rafters and the sarking board (the longitudinal planking above the rafters). The arched brace trusses give a wonderful elegant curve to the main cross frames.
