Carpenter Oak & Woodland is recognised as being a team player, able to work with architects, project managers and engineers, on a wide range of oak-frame building projects.
If you’ve not yet selected an architect, we can help. We don’t employ our own in-house architect (partly because we don’t want to impose an ‘in-house design style’ on clients and partly because we respect, and wish to tap into, the diverse skills of independent architects), but we can help you to find the architect who will be most suitable for your project. We can discuss your plans and ideas and help you to find someone who has a track record in the type of oak-frame building which you want designed – removing some of the uncertainly of making your own selection.
If you have selected an architect, then he/she can draw on our unbeatable experience, knowledge and resources to help him/her to achieve your design goals. Whatever oak frame design your architect is working on, it is extremely likely that we will have undertaken similar work in the past. We can help the architect to design your oak timber frame to work in the way it needs to: creating a strong oak frame without visible bracing, perhaps using the floor and roofs as diaphragm bracing, for example. We have extensive experience of many types and uses of oak timber frames and a comprehensive library of reference material to which architects are able to refer.
