The extended tenon on this king post truss adds character to the frame. You’ll notice that we’re looking at the smaller end of the tapered oak pegs used to secure the joints. The peg holes are drilled parallel so on one face the pegs almost appear a little small but this isn’t the case, there is no cause for concern.
